PAGAR & CO.A GATEWAY FOR WHAT’S NEXT.

For Startups

Your company’s address, before you need an office

A business-address service gives a newly incorporated company a Singapore address to put on its invoices, its website and its records, without a lease and without a founder’s flat becoming the company’s address by default. Pagar & Co. is preparing that service in Tanjong Pagar; onboarding has not opened yet.

The address you use first is the one you keep using

Almost every new company starts with the address a founder already has. It goes on the incorporation paperwork because something had to, then onto the first invoice, then into a supplier’s database, then onto the website because the footer looked empty without it. Nobody decides this. It simply accumulates.

Two years later that address is in places you cannot remember putting it, and it is still where somebody lives. Choosing the address deliberately, early, costs an afternoon. Unpicking it later costs considerably more.

Home address, or business address

Neither option is wrong in principle. They simply behave differently once the company starts receiving things.

What a Singapore company is required to file, which of those details are publicly searchable, and what a director must give as their own address are matters for ACRA. This page is general information, not incorporation or legal advice — check with ACRA or a qualified corporate services provider before acting on it.

Credibility, described accurately

An address in the central business district does something modest and real: it gives a customer, a bank or a partner a settled point of reference, and it removes one small reason to hesitate. A prospective client comparing two proposals reads the footer of both.

What it does not do is decide anything on your behalf. It will not open a bank account, satisfy a procurement review or win a contract — those are judgements other people make about your company, your founders and your business. Any provider who tells a startup otherwise is selling the address as something it is not.

Moving quickly without creating work for later

Speed at this stage usually comes from preparation rather than from a supplier promising a same-day turnaround. The sequence below is the one that avoids doing the job twice.

  1. 1

Decide what the address is actually for

Correspondence only, or the address of record for the company as well? The answer changes what you file and who needs to know, so it is worth settling before you apply.

  2. 2

Have the company details to hand

Incorporation details, who the officers and shareholders are, and identification for them. Most delays at this stage are missing documents rather than difficult ones.

  3. 3

    Apply and be verified

Every application is reviewed by a person before an address is issued. We will not quote a turnaround time we cannot yet stand behind.

  4. 4

Update the records that carry your address

Your bank, your customers, your suppliers, your website and, if it is your address of record, your filing. Doing it in one sitting is far less work than doing it twice.

Cost, and what we are not going to say about it

Early-stage companies watch every recurring line, and they are right to. The relevant point for now is that a business address is a subscription rather than a lease: there is no deposit on a unit, no fit-out, and nothing that has to be committed to for years before you know how the company will grow.

Pagar & Co. has not published pricing, so this page contains no figures, no founder discount and no introductory offer. When pricing is settled it will be published in full, including anything that is charged only when it is used.

Likewise, whether the address can serve as your company’s registered office is confirmed case by case before onboarding, rather than assumed here. It is a better conversation to have before you file than afterwards.

Questions from newly incorporated companies

We incorporated three weeks ago. Are we too new for this?
No. A newly incorporated company is the ordinary case rather than the awkward one. What matters at application is that the company exists and that the people behind it can be identified, not how long it has been trading.
Can we stop using a founder’s home address entirely?
For business correspondence, that is precisely the point: post comes to the business address instead of somebody’s flat. It does not follow that a residential address disappears from every record — an individual officer may still have to give their own address to certain bodies for their own purposes. What a company must file, and what of it is publicly searchable, is a matter for ACRA.
Will a business address help us open a bank account?
It is one detail among many, and we will not claim more than that. Banks run their own onboarding and make their own decisions about a new company, its founders and its business. A settled business address is one fewer question to answer, not an outcome we can promise.
What happens when we grow and take our own office?
You are not tied to a lease, so the change is administrative rather than contractual: you update the records that carry the address and, if it is your company’s address of record, you make the filing that goes with that change. The requirements and any deadline for that filing are set by ACRA.
Is this the same thing as a virtual office?
“Virtual office” usually describes a bundle — an address plus telephone answering, meeting-room credits and sometimes desk access. What Pagar & Co. is preparing is narrower and more deliberate: the address itself and the careful handling of what arrives at it.
How much does it cost?
Pricing is not published yet. When it is, it will appear in full rather than as a headline figure with the important parts underneath. We would rather publish nothing than publish a number we might have to change.
