PAGAR & CO.A GATEWAY FOR WHAT’S NEXT.

How It Works

Six steps, and then very little to think about.

Opening an address should take an afternoon, not a fortnight. What follows is the whole of it: how you apply, how you are verified, and what happens each time something arrives for your company.

The process

From application to collection

The first three steps happen once. The last three repeat, quietly, for as long as you hold the address.

  1. Step 01

    Apply Online

A short application, completed in one sitting.

You choose the arrangement that suits you and complete a single online application: the company (or the company you are forming), the people behind it, and how you intend to use the address.

Nothing is asked for at this stage that could not affect the outcome. Documents are requested only once we know which ones are actually needed.

  2. Step 02

    Verify Securely

Identity and company checks, conducted properly.

You upload identity and company documents through an encrypted channel. They are stored privately and are never published, shared for marketing, or exposed to other clients.

Our systems read and cross-check what you have submitted, and flag anything missing or inconsistent. A person then reviews the file and makes the decision. Automated tools assist the work; they do not conclude it.

  3. Step 03

    Activate Your Address

The address becomes yours to use.

Once your application is accepted and the first payment is settled, your company is recorded against the address and your client account is opened.

You receive the full address in writing, together with the terms on which it may be used, and the point at which you may begin using it.

  4. Step 04

    We Receive Your Mail

Post is taken in by a person, not a pigeonhole.

Items addressed to your company are received in person, matched to your account, and photographed. Sender, item type and date of receipt are recorded on the same day the item is handled.

Envelopes are not opened. Where you have asked for an item to be opened and scanned, that instruction is recorded against your account and followed.

  5. Step 05

    Get Notified

You know what has arrived before you arrive.

Each item appears in your client account with an image of the envelope, and you are alerted by email. Registered, legal and time-sensitive items are marked as such so they do not sit behind ordinary post.

Notifications carry only what you need to recognise the item. Full details stay behind your login rather than travelling in an email.

  6. Step 06

    Collect or Forward

You decide what happens next, item by item.

From the item itself you can ask to collect it, have it forwarded to an address you nominate, or — where you have asked for it — have it opened and scanned.

Every instruction, and the date it was carried out, stays on the record so that you can account for anything later.

Registered and legal mail

The post that cannot be missed

Most of what arrives is routine. A small part of it is not, and the difference matters more than anything else we do.

An address of record exists so that something can be served on your company and be known to have been served. If a demand, a notice or a summons arrives and sits unread, the address has failed at the one thing it was for.

  • Registered, recorded-delivery and courier items are signed for on receipt and entered separately from ordinary post.
  • They are flagged in your client account as requiring attention, with the date and time of receipt and the identity of the carrier recorded.
  • Anything that appears to be from a court, a government body, a regulator or a law firm is treated as time-sensitive and escalated to a person rather than left to a queue.
  • Items of this kind are held securely and released only to you or to a person you have authorised in writing.
  • The record of receipt is retained so that service on the company can be evidenced if it is ever in question.

Pagar & Co. receives and records legal correspondence. It does not act on it, advise on it, or accept instructions in relation to it on your behalf. That remains a matter for you and your advisers.

Two routes

Collection or forwarding

Both are available on every item. Choose once as a standing instruction, or decide each time — whichever suits how you work.

I

Collection

You come to Tanjong Pagar and take the item away yourself.

  • Requested from the item in your client account, and confirmed before you travel.
  • Collection is by appointment; you are told when the item is ready.
  • Identification is checked on collection, and the release is recorded against the item.
  • A person you authorise in writing may collect on your behalf.

Suits registered and legal items, anything you would rather not send on a second journey, and clients who are in Singapore in any case.

II

Forwarding

The item is sent on to an address you nominate, locally or overseas.

  • Requested per item, or standing for all post, and changed whenever you wish.
  • Sent by the carrier and service appropriate to the item; tracking is recorded where the carrier provides it.
  • Forwarding is chargeable. The basis and the amount are confirmed on application; neither is published while pricing is being finalised.
  • Some items cannot be forwarded, whether by law or by carrier restriction. Where that is the case you are told, and the item is held for collection.

Suits directors and teams outside Singapore, and companies that would rather post reached them than waited.

Intelligent by design

AI-assisted. Human-governed.

Automation reads envelopes, sorts what has arrived, checks submitted documents against one another and prepares your notifications. It removes the waiting that has nothing to do with judgement.

It does not decide whether to accept an application, resolve a compliance question, or determine what happens to a legal item. Those decisions are made by a person, and the record shows who made them. Technology handles the routine; human oversight sits where it matters.

More on the thinking behind that is on the about page.
