Tanjong Pagar, and the district around it

Tanjong Pagar sits at the southern edge of the central business district. On one side is the office corridor of Shenton Way, Anson Road and Robinson Road, where most of the banking and professional services are. On the other are the conservation shophouses of Tanjong Pagar Road, Duxton and Craig Road, which house a great many smaller firms, practices and studios.

The district is a working one. It empties at the weekend and fills again on Monday morning, which tells you what it is for. Peck Seah Street runs between the two halves of it, alongside the station.

The practical consequence is that almost everything a company needs to do in person — a bank, a lawyer, an accountant, a corporate secretary, a client meeting — is within walking distance rather than a journey.

Getting here

Tanjong Pagar station, on the East–West Line, is the nearest MRT station, and the building is a short walk from it. The wider central business district is served by several lines, so the premises are reachable from most of the island without changing more than once.
